Romanian Chess Federation celebrates its centennial in 2025.
Alba Iulia is a city with chess tradition, which started organizing international events since 2016. All three Romanian Grand Prix Finals have been played in Alba Iulia, in the last three years. In 2024, Five-time OTB world champion, Vishy Anand, played a simultaneous with 100 talented youngsters, in Alba Carolina citadel.
